As senior move manager and organizing specialists, we offer a range of services that vary depending on your specific needs and situation of each client. Our goal is to make the move or situation less stressful for the client and their family. We assist clients in the following areas; downsizing, home organization, packing, unpacking, residence set up, staging, estate dispersal, real estate referrals, home sale preparation. We will assist in any area that will make the transition less stressful on the client.
SOS provides Professional Organizing services to Seniors and their Families in Iowa City and surrounding areas. Our Professional Organizers are here to help in the downsizing process. We assist in planning, packing, and unpacking a move, as well as with personal assistance, cleaning and organizing services, errand running, paperwork management, bill paying, budgeting, and clutter control. We provide transportation services for household items that are no longer needed and can be consigned, donated, or recycled.
SHIIP is a free, confidential and objective service of the State of Iowa Insurance Division. Local organizations sponsor SHIIP in counties across the state and volunteer counselors provide one-to-one assistance with questions and problems related to Medicare and health insurance. SHIIP counselors are available in Johnson County at the Iowa City / Johnson County Senior Center (319-356-5220)
The STAR Registry is a database of Iowans age 50 and older who are interested in volunteering for research studies at the University of Iowa. Older adults are typically under-represented in scientific research, making study results less helpful to the older population. STAR was created to: • facilitate the inclusion of older adults in UI research studies • help increase the quantity and quality of research relating to older adults STAR matches research volunteers with studies for which they are likely to qualify, using information provided by each volunteer.

Same-day requests are on a space availability basis only. You may schedule up to fourteen days in advance.
We provide in-home care and assistance to help people stay independent and safely age in place. Services include housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, medication reminders, companionship, and transportation to appointments and stores. We also provide personal cares like bathing, dressing, personal hygiene assistance, safe transfers and walking, and help with exercises.
