Orval Yoder Turnpike Bridge over Old Mans Creek is OPEN to traffic Thursday October 13, 2022

Johnson County is pleased to announce that Orval Yoder Turnpike at the bridge over Old Mans Creek is OPEN to traffic. The work on this project is now substantially complete. Some work will still be taking place off the road and at times there may be temporary lane closures to load and unload equipment. Please use caution during these times. This location is in southwestern Johnson County along Orval Yoder Turnpike SW south of Black Diamond Road SW/F52.

Construction was completed by Cramer and Associates, Inc. of Grimes, Iowa.

Funding available in Johnson County for childcare consultation services for immigrant and refugee in-home childcare providers

The Johnson County Empowerment/Early Childhood Iowa Area Board has funds available for programs to provide childcare consultation services to immigrant and refugee in-home childcare providers.

Any programs serving childcare providers in Johnson County are eligible to apply. Funds are available for contract dates Jan. 1 to June 30, 2023, with a possibility of up to two renewal years. Total funding of up to $5,000 is available for this project.
