Funding available in Johnson County for supported childcare for medically complex children

The Johnson County Empowerment/Early Childhood Iowa Area Board has funds available for licensed childcare centers to provide supported childcare for medically complex children.

Any licensed childcare centers participating in QRS or IQ4K, participating in Iowa’s Childcare Assistance Program and serving families in Johnson County are eligible to apply. Funds are available for contract dates Jan. 1 to June 30, 2023, with a possibility of up to two renewal years. Total funding of up to $26,200 is available for this project.

Johnson County accepting grant applications for organizations responding to short-term, one-time emergency needs

Johnson County is accepting applications for Social Services Emergency Grant and Poverty Reduction Initiative grants. The County may award up to $130,000 in funding to non-profit, charitable organizations that provide services to Johnson County residents. 

Johnson County to host Community Food and Farm Grant application clinics in October

Johnson County will host Community Food and Farm Grant application clinics in partnership with the Center for Worker Justice of Eastern Iowa (CWJ) and the IC Compassion Global Food Project this month.

Two application clinics will take place at CWJ, 1556 S 1st Ave #C, Iowa City, IA 52240. The first clinic will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The second will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12. Spanish and Arabic interpretation will be available at these application clinics.
