Johnson County Auditor’s Office 2022 proposed reprecincting maps for Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty and Tiffin available

The Johnson County Auditor’s Office has sent map proposals to Coralville, Iowa City, North Liberty and Tiffin, following the approval of redistricting maps by the Iowa Legislature on Oct. 28,  and signature from Governor Reynolds on Nov. 4, 2021, counties and cities are required to review and redraw precinct boundaries. Upon approval from the cities and County, precinct maps will go into effect on Jan. 15, 2022. All registered voters in Johnson County will be sent new voter registration cards.

Johnson County Board of Supervisors approves FY2022 budget for initial American Rescue Plan Act investments

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors approved more than $5.6 million to be allocated in the current Fiscal Year – FY2022 – for urgent community needs and public improvement projects that will be funded by Johnson County’s Local Fiscal Recovery Fund allocation of $29.3 million. Priorities include affordable housing, childcare solutions, eviction prevention, and infrastructure improvements.

Initiatives funded in FY2022, which is from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022, include the following approximate amounts:

Thanksgiving 2021 holiday hours for Johnson County governmental offices

Most Johnson County governmental offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25, and Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Detailed schedule changes and other office closures include:

Ambulance: Johnson County Ambulance Service (JCAS) will be available for routine and emergency response. The JCAS billing and administrative offices will be closed. Emergency services remain available 365 days a year. In an emergency, residents should always dial 911.
