Johnson County’s Direct Assistance Program provides one-time, financial assistance to individuals who have suffered hardship due to COVID-19. Eligible residents who are low- to moderate-income with documented hardship due to COVID-19 are invited to apply for a $1,400 emergency relief payment.

The Johnson County Empowerment/Early Childhood Iowa Area Board is accepting applications for School Ready Scholarships for the 2022-2023 school year. The School Ready Scholarship program can assist parents in paying for a quality preschool experience for their child.

Scholarships are available for children who will be 3, 4, or 5 years of age by Sept. 15, 2022, and will start kindergarten during Fall 2023 or Fall 2024. Priority will be given to children beginning kindergarten during Fall 2023.

Johnson County Public Health to launch COVID-19 self-reporting form

Johnson County Public Health (JCPH) will launch an electronic COVID-19 self-reporting form to provide the public the ability to share their positive rapid antigen at-home test kit result. Rapid antigen tests administered at home are not reported to the state’s disease surveillance system or counted when reporting case numbers.
